accounting books

accounting books, often called daifuku cho, were popular in Japan during the Edo period (1603-1868). besides serving as transaction ledgers, they were used as travel journals.

although they are made according to Master Craftsman Kojiro Ikegami’s instructions, they are prepared as a hybrid between daifuku cho and ledgers with Yamato binding.

our accounting books are made with Aiko’s kozo paper, bound with hemp cord, and covered in fabric.
